How to apply for a PhD at Edinburgh?

You can apply for a fully funded 4-year PhD with integrated study at the NLP Centre for Doctoral Training or for a fully funded 3-year PhD at the Institute for Language, Cognition and Computation (ILCC).

Do you have openings for postdocs?

Unfortunately, I have no personal funding for a postdoc at the moment. However, if you are intested in joining my group as a postdoc, you might consider securing external funding such as the EPSRC fellowship. Feel free to reach out to me to explore this option.

I am a student of Informatics at Edinburgh. Can you supervise me for my MSc/UG4/MInf dissertation project?

Please send me an email with your resume and a trascript with your grades, and we will take it from there!

I am looking for a co-PI/collaborator in a EU grant. Can you still participate in it?

Yes! The UK government has extended Plan B to 30th June. This means that “eligible, successful bids for calls closing on or before this date continue to be guaranteed funding”.

We are a start-up / company, how can we request your consulting or collaboration?

There are two main models of collaborations, with different costings and time limits. Consultancy is suitable for services where you need to own IPR in the material produced for you. Research collaborations instead aim at publishing papers or developing open source software. Please contact me cc’ing the Senior Business Development and Contracts Manager of the School of Informatics of UoE for more information.
